Best Lead Actor: John Barrowman

Sporting an absolutely irrepressible personality, John Barrowman managed to ride the publicity for Children of Earth to barely come out on top of Neil Patrick Harris, in a charming reversal of the Hot 100 results.

Based on our interviews with the star, we’re fairly sure he’d make some joke about enjoying a good flip-flop. Despite all of our recent complaints about the Captain Jack’s irresponsible behavior resulting in multiple deaths, you did love the portrayal of the material, it seems.

While we don’t know the next time that Captain Jack will visit our screens on Torchwood, it seems a safe bet that we’ll soon be able to enjoy this singing/dancing/acting omnipresent star on our screens again in something else almost as interesting.

Gay Character, Drama: Ianto Jones


We don’t think Ianto would really go for that, so tell you what: we’re going to play a game of Naked Hide-and-Seek in his honor. We’ll seek, so everybody get out of their clothes, and we’re going to count to ten, then we’ll come looking for you. Go on - undies too!

Sure, it’s a little avante garde, but we hear Ianto was a fan of that. And frankly, we think he’d prefer this to have us go moping around the galaxy on a freighter.

Best TV Movie/Miniseries: Torchwood - Children of Earth

In some ways, this category had the most diverse set of nominees in the whole bunch, and it turned into a two-way battle between the tear jerker and the action series. In the end, the single most talked about television event in AfterElton.com history managed to win: Torchwood: Children of Earth. It thrilled us, made us sigh, and added an emphatic “Oi!” to our lexicons here in the U.S.

Und Ianto gegen Scotty ... armer Scotty, da lag Ianto haushoch vorn! Und das, wo Scotty (Luke Macfarlane aus "Brothers and Sisters") wirklich ein echtes leibhaftiges Sahneschnittchen ist

Das Sahnehäubchen ist dann noch die Ernennung zur besten Serie! *JUBEL!!!*

Noch was zu AFTERELTON:
News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media - so definiert sich die Seite selbst. Es ist also nichts, was allein auf die USA bezogen ist... da aber nun mal die meisten tollen international bekannten TV-Sachen aus Amerika kommen, ist das natürlich ein gewisser Schwerpunkt. Dass aber auch andere Serien eine Chance haben, sehen wir hier jetzt an Torchwood.

Ui, da hat die Serie aber richtig abgesahnt! Gönn ich ihr aber! Obwohl ich zugegebenermaßen die meiste Konkurrenz nicht kenne - "Kiss me deadly" hab ich gesehen, fand ihn aber eher mittelmäßig und längst nicht so gut wie CoE, also schätz ich mal, dass sie auch berechtigt gewonnen haben
